Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said, India for example, there is an energy factor providing universal access to achieve climate change targets. Policies taken by several countries that have succeeded in developing EBT take the example from India. There is a motivating factor for securing energy factor providing universal energy access to achieve climate change targets.

Arifin revealed that India has an EBT target of up to 500 Giga Watt (GW) in 2030.

India implements a tariff policy, namely Renewable Energy (RNE) with Feed In Tariff (FIT) which is a form of subsidy policy so that investment in the development of renewable energy becomes more attractive and more profitable for investors. “India’s target is 500 GW in 2030 and its achievements in 2022 have reached 160 GW. The main policies implemented include the RNE tariff policy, namely Feed in Tariff in 2009,” he said.

In addition, other countries that have succeeded in developing renewable energy are Thailand and Vietnam.

In Thailand, the total energy share in primary energy was 19.4% in 2019, the main policy being implemented was the application of competitive bidding with FIT as the selling price for PLTS and PLTB. Policies taken by several countries that have succeeded in developing EBT take the example from India.
